For Goizueta Business School’s centennial, we threw an exclusive black-tie, symphony-themed gala, complete with fine dining, custom art installations, and live music — because when you turn a hundred, you do what you like.

This one was a multidisciplinary adventure. Once the designer and I finalized the brand, I got busy creating promotional collateral, a run-of-show script, and a custom commemorative print booklet.

Still the bulk of my work — and the heart of the program — came down to the evening’s prepared remarks. After a series of discovery interviews, I wrote speeches (scored to original music) for all five of the night’s presenters, including Goizueta alumni, faculty, and Dean Erika James (see video above).

Fancy people like fancy invitations.

Ben Folds! Not really my bag, but de gustibus non est disputandum, as they used to say.

I wrote Dean Erika’s James’s concluding keynote speech, among others. Please note: I’m pretty good at writing speeches but am not hire-able for speech delivery.
