Founder’s Week has been a Lehigh University tradition since 1879. With the event moving to virtual in 2020, our team was tasked with creating a program that would celebrate the school’s legacy while building enthusiasm for the future.
With a limited amount of archival available, I wrote the opening video tribute to said-founder, Asa Packer, in the manner of a Ken Burns docu-short. It seemed like a brilliant idea at the time! But to be honest, I’m not sure if it works. (We were deep into the pandemic, and I was getting pretty restless.)
In any event, I’m sharing because it was fun to dig into some century-old monographs and get a feel for the life and times of a veritable railroad titan. Also I like to “work with the garage door up,” as it were. Take a peek!
